My lampwork vessels are made not by blowing, but by winding
successively smaller turns of molten glass, one after another, until
they enclose an open cavity. This makes for a fairly thick walled vessel
that can stand up to the punishment that aroma therapy vials can encounter
(or at least as much punishment as any glass bottle can take!). This
technique also forms interestingly shaped cavities and vial shapes,
which I really like. _________________________________________ |

In this necklace, Geometry, the vial is 41mm x 44mm made from gaffer glass set in a seed bead net and hung from a 17" sterling silver chain. I had originally thought to do a more loopy decoration on this one, but once I saw how the triangles looked I just wanted more! In this necklace, Urn, the vial is 38mm x 16mm made from Effetre glass set in a seed bead net and hung from a 17" sterling silver chain. French Perfume. That's what it brought to mind, at least for me. Something exotic and sultry. Made from Effetre glass, with rose powder to give it the lovely shades of purple and pink, size 73mm x 13mm. Enhanced with seed beads, and strung on a 17" sterling silver chain. Originally I was going to make the seed beads go all the way around the vial, but the look of the round shape of the vial poking out reminded me of a tummy, so I left it open. Made from gaffer glass, 38mm x 16mm, on a 17" sterling silver chain. Split Skirt, ready to go dance the samba if it ever grows legs. Effetre glass, 52mm x 22mm, with little bits of purple and green peeking out at the bottom. On a 17" sterling silver chain. |
